Reverse DNS and Microsoft Azure

At the time of writing you can’t currently use reverse DNS with a PIP that you may have configured with your VM. Azure reverse DNS is attached to the cloud service your VM is in.

Install and configure Microsoft Azure PowerShell

Please note that the following tutorial is intended for users of Windows Vista/Server 2008 on-wards.

With Microsoft Azure you have two ways of managing your account. The first and easiest way is to use the web management portal ( and the second way is to use Azure PowerShell. In this tutorial I’ll lay out how to install Azure PowerShell and how to connect your Azure account to it (if you’re using a Microsoft Account or an Organisational Account).
